South Philly Lady “Godiva”
So I live in South Philly on the borderline of Graduate Hospital and Point Breeze. There is a wildlife scene in this area. Its an on going battle for terrain, food and survival. There are a couple of different factions. The squirrels, racoons, opossums, reject house cats, mice, rats, coyote(yes desert dogs) and the occasional blood dog make up the wild kingdom of South Philly. I feel like one of the “Warriors” trying to escape New York and it seems like my house is the battle ground. Deck plants ripped to shreds, electrical problems and poo. It seems like its all intensional. See I made the mistake on trying to feed the squirrels 1 turned to 5 then to 50. Later the Racoons ripped a hole in the roof for nesting. When the racoons left for foraging the opossums moved in. Something got trapped in the ceiling for a couple of days and perished. Then the bog flies showed up. Loud, big and can take a hit like that fat girl at school. (I dont condone hitting women or bullying but Bertha sure could take a punch but that big ***** hit like a dude.) That leaves the mice and rats who left the fleas behind. Only to battle royal with the reject house cats who look the sa.e different colors but inbred.(Dreamsicle and lil Bubs look like cousin brothers).
With all that aside South Philly is a wonderful place to live and appreciate what’s around.
